Scissors

Build loop corners, join open ends, or extend paths until they meet.

Vextra Scissors extends and rebuilds path parts rather than simply cutting them. A guide line shows the result before you release the mouse.

Make a Loop Corner

Click a sharp corner that Scissors can work with.

Vextra extends both sides past their crossing point to create a loop, rather than shortening the sides into a cut corner.

The processed result cleans the loop away while the loop-shaped source stays easy to edit.

Drag from One Node to Another

Press one node and drag to another. Vextra picks the action from the pair:

  • Smart Close — joins two matching open ends.
  • Sharpen Corner — rebuilds a sharp corner from related ends.
  • Expand Two — extends two separate path parts until they meet.

The preview shows the planned result. Vextra acts only when the two nodes form one of these actions.

Select a Group of Corners

Drag from empty canvas to draw a box around corner points, or Option-drag / Alt-drag to draw a freehand lasso.

Vextra runs the matching Scissors action once the selected group holds the two or four corners it needs.

How Loops Look

While you edit, the source path can cross itself. The processed result removes the intended loop and leaves one clean node where the lines meet. Other crossings stay as they are.

Hold backtick to hide the editing marks and see the clean result.

Cancel

Press Escape during a Scissors drag, box, or lasso to keep the path.

See Processed Output to learn why the editable path and the final shape can look different.
