Spiral Fill
A continuous expanding spiral whose width and color respond to the source.
Spiral creates one long radial path from the center toward the edges. Its width changes along the route according to source density, allowing a recognizable image to emerge from a single continuous structure.
Controls
- Thickness controls maximum spiral width.
- Spacing controls the distance between successive turns.
- Angle rotates the spiral's starting orientation.
- Organic introduces radial drift, width variation, and edge roughness.
A useful starting point is Thickness 6, Spacing 10–14, Angle 30°, Organic 0.
Center
Spiral starts in the middle of the source bounds. The target button beside Dynamic Color lets you place its center anywhere in the document, including beyond the source bounds. Click once to place it; the picker then ends. Press Esc or click the target button again to cancel, and double-click the target button to restore the default source center.
Color
Static mode keeps the spiral visually unified. Dynamic Color divides it into sampled color sections while preserving the continuous overall route.
Tips
Spiral works best when the main subject is near the center. Tight spacing preserves detail but creates a long, complex path. Wider spacing produces a simpler, stronger graphic. Moderate Organic adds a hand-drawn feel without destroying the radial structure.
