Dither Fill
An ordered, rotated dither that converts source density into a graphic cell texture.
Dither uses a small ordered threshold matrix across repeated cells. The source determines which cells appear, creating an even graphic texture rather than free random marks.
Controls
- Thickness changes cell corner character from rounded toward squarer forms.
- Spacing sets the repeated tile size.
- Angle rotates the entire dither field.
- Organic shifts cells away from a perfectly regular arrangement.
Try Thickness 6, Spacing 16, Angle 30°, Organic 0.
Color
Static mode uses the color selected in the Linestra controls. Dynamic Color samples each visible cell and groups matching colors efficiently into compound paths.
Tips
Dither works well for graphic portraits, packaging textures, and retro digital surfaces. Wider Spacing makes the ordered construction obvious. Tighter Spacing carries more image detail but creates more subpaths.
Keep Organic at zero for a precise screen. Raise it gradually for a less mechanical print texture.
